Vivah means marriage. Panchami is a Tithi on which auspicious things are carried out. What do you mean by Panchami? Panchami is the fifth Tithi of one cycle of the Moon phase. People who are born on the Panchami Tithi are generally intelligent and lead a comfortable life.
Lord Rama and Mata Sita got married during the Margashirsha month in Shukla Paksha. After this, the tradition of celebrating this day as the festival of Shri Ram Vivah has been followed. This day is also known as Vivah Panchami at certain places.

Rules to follow on Vivah Panchami

- Adorn Lord Shri Rama with yellow clothes and Mata Sita with red clothes.
- Recite Sundara Kanda Path from Ramayana on this day as it is considered to be highly beneficial.
- Tie the knot of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita and perform Aarti.
- Offer Prasad to Lord Rama and Goddess Sita on this day.
- Light Agarbatti (incense sticks) and Dhoop on this day.
- Finally, keep the clothes with you.
Astrological Importance of Vivah Panchami
