Significance of Gupt Navratri 2022

Gupt Navratri is starting from 2nd February 2022. This sacred festival of Navratri is considered highly special and auspicious in itself, but what makes Gupt Navratri 2022 even more extraordinary and auspicious this year is a rare 19-year coincidence. What is the significance of this unusual occurrence? In fact, for the first time in 19 years, the planet Rahu will be in the friendly sign of Taurus on the festival of Gupt Navratri this year.

Gupt Navratri 2022: Significance

When it comes to the significance of Gupt Navratri, it is mostly associated with Tantra Sadhana, Tantric Activities, Shakti Sadhana, Mahakal, and other Tantric practices. The requirements of Gupt Navratri are likewise highly tight and tough, and it is necessary to observe these strict restrictions if one’s wish is to be granted. Apart from that, it’s worth noting that, while Navratri in the Chaitra and Sharad months is widely observed in India, Gupt Navratri is observed mostly in Punjab, Uttarakhand, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh.

Rituals of Gupt Navratri Puja

  • Take a vow of fasting and worship and begin worship on this day, after waking up in Brahma Muhurta and retiring from bathing and other activities.
  • For worship, a Maa Durga idol or portrait should be placed on the floor in a clean location and covered with a red drape/chunri.
  • Take a clean clay container and plant barley in it after that.
  • Put Gangajal and coins in the Mangal Kalash, prepare it with mango leaves and quince, and place it in the Ghatasthapana Muhurta.
  • After that, present the goddess with fruits, flowers, incense, lamps, naivadhya, and other offerings.

Keep in mind that you must fill this earthen pot with water for nine days. After that, on Ashtami or Navami Tithi, take blessings by summoning nine females and serving them food with respect, donating, and caressing their feet. Worship Maa Durga with your family on the last day of Navratri, sing her aarti, and then sprinkle Kalash water all over the house. If any water remains after this, place it under any sacred location or adored tree.

Gupt Navratri is comparably similar to Chaitra and Sharad Navratri in terms of fasting and worship. On these days, one should worship the mother with reverence and fast.

How is Gupt Navratri different from Chaitra and Sharad Navratri?

The Gupt Navratri is seen to be the ideal for achieving one’s desires, primarily through Tantra Sadhana. Devotees go to great lengths to honor Goddess Durga and keep her blessings on their lives throughout this time. Reciting Durga Chalisa, Durga Saptashati, and Durga Sahasranama is very beneficial during this time. Sadhaks are reported to fast and worship Gupt Navratri in particular to obtain money, child happiness, and the removal of adversaries.

Apart from that, Gupt Navratri is observed solely in secret.

That is, the more secrets you keep about this fast and worship, the more fruit you will reap. Tantra Kriya should only be performed during Gupt Navratri with the consent of one’s Guru or under his supervision.
